✳︎ Our Story ✳︎ Our Story

SRAAS was born out of NECESSITY in a small clinic at the Victoria General Hospital in British Columbia Canada. Our mission is to make a difference through education while advocating and supporting those affected by spasticity. Our team are all volunteers and they devote both their professional, and much of their personal lives to spasticity care.

Over the years research has stalled due to limited government funding. Progress and advancement have been sustained through donations from our community. We are currently working towards becoming a recognized nonprofit charity.  This will help us to host events, share community stories, and expand our outreach.

We have and continue to dedicate countless hours into building SRAAS so we can continue our mission.

In 2025 we were deeply grateful to receive a grant from the town of View Royal, making it possible to post our very first fundraising and awareness event in Victoria BC. We were truly overwhelmed by the support!  250 people attended and helped us raise over $30,000 for spasticity research and care.

We are incredibly grateful to all of you for your continued support.

With gratitude,

The SRAAS team.
